While pappardelle noodles might not be as commonly well-known as spaghetti, macaroni, or tagliatelle, they're still capable of much more than just swimming in a sea of marinara sauce. For example, you can braid them into a lattice lid for a meatball pie! Heat some olive oil in a pan and briefly cook the diced tomatoes before adding the rest of the ingredients to the pan. Let the sauce simmer until it reaches a thick consistency.2. For the meatballs, add the ingredients to a bowl, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.3. Form the ground beef mixture into small meatballs and stick them in the pasta sauce.4. Grate enough cheese over the pan so it's completely covered.5. Create a lattice with the cooked pappardelle noodles.6. Carefully lift the lattice with both hands and place it over the pan with the meatballs. Make sure that the entire pan is covered by the pasta lattice.7. Trim the hanging edges of the pasta lattice.8.
